A Pipe Layer / Top Hand at IGT is responsible for safely and efficiently installing underground utility systems on commercial and heavy civil construction projects. Pipe crews are critical to the successful completion of site development projects, installing infrastructure that supports communities throughout Idaho.
We are looking for experienced individuals who take pride in their work, prioritize safety, and understand the importance of quality workmanship. This position requires individuals who can work effectively as part of a crew while maintaining production, accuracy, and attention to detail in a fast-paced construction environment.
Duties / Description:
Work in trenches to install pipe, structures, trench boxes, and underground utility components
Safely install underground utility systems including storm, sewer, water, irrigation and related infrastructure
Guide and direct Operators during excavation and utility installation to ensure safe and accurate placement of pipe and structures
Assist with rigging, setting, aligning, and connecting pipe while maintaining proper line and grade
Read and understand blueprints, grade stakes, elevations, and utility plans
Verify grades and elevations using pipe lasers, grade rods, and other measuring equipment
Safely work around existing utilities and follow all trench safety requirements
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite
Follow all company safety policies, OSHA regulations, and project specifications
Pay Range: $18 - $28
Qualifications / Experience: Driver's license: required (Class CDL A preferred)Pipe Layer: 3 years (preferred)
Schedule: 8 - 10 hour shifts Monday through Friday (Some Saturdays may be required)
